Editor’s Note

by Allison Lee

Contrary to my lowered expectations, the first half of September ventured by relatively smoothly to the past six months. Six whole months in quarantine. Take your time to digest that. I hope you, the reader, have more or less grown through this stagnant time, but if not, know that that’s perfectly normal as well.

Still, time does not stop for anyone and world events continue to find room and way to wiggle into our lives. The Mulan live-action has finally hit the silver screens, the beloved and Notorious RBG has left behind a great legacy to uphold, the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards successfully carried on with safe measures, and more. Schools are officially back in business for students, another summer gone, whether that is good news or bad, only time will tell.

Nevertheless, battles still have to be fought and beliefs upheld. As we advance closer toward the presidential election in the United States, tensions will only tighten and who knows what will happen by our next issue? In these times, it’s important that each and every one of us keep a clear head and do the best we can in our individual responsibilities.

As we publish our fourth issue, we would like to take the chance to thank the readers who have provided our team with invaluable feedback. Your opinion is what sustains us here at GIS and we hope to keep hearing from you.

Happy reading and stay golden.
