The Present for Tomorrow

by Emeir Faizal

At the end of every year, I always wish to be better and to take steps forward in my journey. But, I always wonder if those who do not have proper homes, shelter, and jobs would aspire the same since they already struggle to make ends meet. Are they content with going through the same motions every day? Wandering around but cared for by nobody? I want to climb the improvement ladder, but I want others to be able to do the same. I wish to help the less fortunate, but how do I go about doing that when Iā€™m not even capable of progressing on my own? As I leap into another year, that would be my wish: to provide presents for tomorrow.
