Artwork Statement:
By modifying a “One Singapore Dollar” coin into a necklace, Caught Red-Handed aims to challenge the consequences brought upon by the Singaporean Currency Act. It does so by letting the piece of art balance between a moral tightrope where the physical artwork is an illegal piece of jewellery but also one that can be easily turned back into legal tender accepted by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
